Jon Nicklin

Jon Nicklin is a Senior Advisor to TIVACO Experts based in Beijing. He has 20 years of experience as a forensic accountant, having trained in the UK and then been based for 13 years in Greater China, focusing on valuation of businesses, damages, lost profits, and wasted costs in the context of international arbitration and litigation, as well as fraud investigation cases.

Jon has been appointed as an independent expert witness and provided expert testimony in arbitration matters under CIETAC, SHIAC, SIAC and HKIAC rules.

His experience spans shareholder, joint venture (JV) and post-M&A disputes (including breach of representations and warranty claims), intellectual property (IP) infringement claims, and pre-litigation company valuation, as well as investor-state arbitration.

Jon has deep experience of damages and lost profit claims in a variety of industries, particularly pharmaceuticals, automotive, manufacturing, leisure / tourism (hotels), mining and power generation, and is regularly engaged by Fortune 500 listed clients in each of these industries.

As a near-native Mandarin and Cantonese speaker, Jon is one of the few quantum expert witnesses currently working in the Asia-Pacific region to have both prepared reports and testified on valuation and quantum issues before international arbitration tribunals in Mandarin.

Jon is a Chartered Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales (ICAEW). He received his Bachelor of Science from University College London.
